Apostrophe (from Greek αποστροφη, "turning away") can refer to several things:
- Apostrophe (mark) ( ’ ), a form of punctuation
- Apostrophe (figure of speech), an address to a person or personified object not present
- Apostrophe ('), an album by Frank Zappa
- Apostrophe (television), a French television show about literature
- Apostrophe (band), punk rock band from Turkey
In physiology, "apostrophe" is used more precisely in connection with its literal meaning, e.g. for movement away from the light, in the case of the accumulation of chlorophyll-corpuscles on the cells of leaves.
